Hello all, I just bought Genelec 8040a monitors and I'm so happy with them so far... I was wondering though if they need some "break-in" period or can I safely turn the volume up. :)

Sincerely,
Stefan aka falcon1

Hello,

Thanks for your great news and for purchasing our products! We are very happy to hear that your 8040A fullfill your expectations!

You can turn up the volume, no break-in period is necessary. That was an issue in the late 70's typically, when drivers materials, especially suspensions and glue were of different types and qualities than they are today.

For now, no worries, enjoy!

Best regards,

Thank you for your quick reply Christophe. :)

I just love how clear these monitors are, I'm noticing things that I have never heard before in both my own mixes and others too - I have been using headphones past too many years. Even though I had a great headphones (Sennheiser), being able to hear the music through my new Genelec monitors are like entering into a new world of audio.

Sincerely,
