Massive drop at 80Hz with 8330

Hi. I just bought a pair of 8330 and did the first calibration. I notice a HUGE drop at 80Hz with the right speaker, which is not corrected. Any tips on how I could improve this? The room is 3,5m x 4,0m and attached are pictures of the curves and the speaker setup on my desk. Thanks for help in advance! :)

New measurements, with the following changes. Looks better now.

1. I installed the new 2.3.0 GLM beta

2. I set up the speakers near the mic in the GLM

3. I pulled the room mic 20-30cm backwards and tested with the door open vs closed.

Thanks for sharing. Very interesting. Unfortunately I ma not very familiar with a set-up on a desk.

Usually a drop is the result of a cancelation due to reflection form walls and ceiling and floor, so pobably differnt positioning of the speakers in the room might help.

I have a couple of questions to Ilkka:

1.) Does GLM 2.3.0 beta has a different room correction algorythm?

2.) Does the positioning of the Mic and speaker in the GLM software has an effect on the room correction?

3.) Position of Mic in the room should be at the listening position, right?

I can answer to the number 2. since this was just debated in a Finnish audio forum where Ilkka replied that they don't matter.

I am also pretty sure, that on your question #3 the answer is yes, however, you can have multiple listening positions. I do have a followup question on this to Ilkka as well -> what if you get a much better room response by moving the microphone about 10cm from your exact listening position - should I use this mic position or the exact place of the listener?

You should always have the mic at the listening position so that the frequency response is measured and corrected there. It makes no sense to make the correction for some other place if you are not actually listening there. Of course if only small changes in microphone or loudspeaker position makes large difference in frequency response, it shows that the room could benefit from acoustical treatment and also better optimised locations for the loudspeakers as well as the listener.
