Hi,

Yesterday my speakers were working perfectly, they have never been moved since I purchased them under 3 years ago and I have never had any previous issues.

Today I fired up my studio but my speakers did not come on. Everything else is working fine, which is coming from the same power source, but the speakers are dead. I tried using a different power cable but still nothing. The lights do not come on.

I am really confused as they were perfect yesterday when I turned them off, but today... NOTHING.

WHY??? I need my speakers as I have tracks that need finishing and have deadlines. Both speakers dying at the same time!!!

I am not sure who to contact and could do with a phone number to ring or an email address. I am from England BTW.

Sent my speakers off to Source Distrubution weeks ago, and after a phone call today, they still haven't even looked at them!

I'm absolutly livid!

I've paid over a grand for a set of high regarded speakers which I did not expect to just die, and now I'm having to wait weeks/months for someone to even look at them. It's a joke. I have work that needs to be completed.

Genelec I am soooo dissapionted.

Hi Aaron,

I'm sorry it have taken that long at the UK repair center. I have contacted our UK service, and asked if they could hurry in your case. If you need to have your monitors serviced later on, please negotiate with Source Distribution beforehand that if it would be possible to have replacement units meanwhile your products are serviced if you need them at daily work. Some of our distributor can offer loan speakers, but this always need to be negotiated with the distributor.

Hi Jani,

Thanks for hurrying them along.

I spoke to them yesterday and now i'm being told the warranty does not cover the cost of repair as it was an electrical fault.

I was never told this previously, and if I was I wouldn't have sent them out.

I can't afford to pay the repair cost and my speakers are stuck in London.

What do you mean electrical fault? Like some kind of power surge that ruined the speakers? It sounds like it for two speakers to fail at the same time sounds like bad power.

I think you should ask them to point out what electrical fault is it.

Maybe it happened cause there was a surge in the voltage.
This happened with my in-car speakers, my old accumulator died, and a pair of my in-car speakers died, tried reboot, but this doesn't help. When I tried to find the new ones, its really hard, if you are not good at electronics. So I found a good source that helped me out, this is called the best 6x9 speakers top, this guys really know what to advise.
Now, I using speakers from this top (model JBL GTO939 Premium) and I'm totally fine. I advise you to check this out if you need really good recommendations.
