G One vs 8010A

As a newcomer to Genelec, I am interested in getting the G One as my studio monitor speakers for music production. I know it’s marketed towards consumers, but aside from the RCA input and white LED light, are the 8010A and the G One perfectly identical in terms of sound quality? Would it be fine to use the G One in my music production setup?

Thanks for any help in advance..

Edit: I've done more research and have gone across a couple of threads on this forum saying that they pretty much are identical.

The 2 are very different, the 8010A clearly out performs the G1.

The G1 was identical to the old 6010, the 8010 was a big step forward...

Could you be more specific? Everywhere I've read would seem to indicate otherwise. Here are some specific discussions on the matter:

In particular, the last post of the last thread link from ilkka-rissanen :

"~~Before we launched the home audio product range (G and F series) in late 2012, our pro series speakers were used for years in various environments, from professional audio to home audio/hifi/home theater without any problems. Changes we made for the G series speakers relate to connectivity, appearance (finishing options) and other features, not audio quality or frequency response."

Hi all,

There have been two version of the G One. G One A is identical to 6010A/B acoustically, and G one B is identical to 8010A acoustically.

Both versions of G One can be used in music production, but of course our latest B-model is our latest technology with Class D amplifiers and I would recommend the latest G One B -model.

You can compare these A and B versions from links below:

I was going to ask that question too because even searching online, I can't find any sort of announcement about this. So it looks like it was a silent update I guess?
