GLM 3.0 Beta, problem upgrading speaker firmware

Youngling Posts: 8 Join Date: 12/9/12 Recent Posts

Hi,

I installed GLM 3.0.0 Beta build 115 and upgraded the Network Interface firmware.

I also upgraded the firmware of three 8240´s' but upgrading the firmware of the 8330´s fails. The progress bar goes to about 50% and then there comes an error message saying "Update failed!" and the loudspeaker´s led blinks yellow. Power cycling the speakers and restarting GLM resets the situation.

Hi,

Can you please contact us through GLM's "Help | Get Support" menu so that we can see your setup file. Thank you!

Apparently no.

I have the non-cloud variant of GLM 3.0, and when I click Help - Get Support (after having logged in to my cloud account in GLM), I get dialog "Warning. Current setup is not available in your cloud account. OK". When I click "OK" it seems as nothing happens except the dialog closes. Or did it send some info to you?

I didn´t find easily the cloud  variant installer for Mac, so I couldn´t test with that.

GLM3 build 115 includes both, local and cloud variants of the AutoCal calculation. In order to use the cloud calculation, you have to tick "Use AutoCal Cloud" on the calibration page of the setup (same page where you define microphone serial number, siglepoint or multipoint calibration etc). Once you have run the cloud AutoCal even once, you are able to ask for support through Help menu.

Oh, okay. Thanks for the advice.

I've done that now and you should have received the setup file.

Hi,

I'm probably having the same problem. I just calibrated a fresh 5.1 setup of 8330As and a 7350A. One of the purchased 8330As was older batch with factory-installed firmware of 1.0.6.1793, other speakers and the sub were running the latest FW version. With the older speaker upgrading the FW fails with both GLM2 and GLM3 as described in the AP of this thread. Using a MacBook Pro with macOS 10.13 High Sierra. Will enable the cloud stuff (or junk if you ask me ;) later for better diagnostics.

Hi all,

You should download and install the latest GLM 3 Beta build 117. The firmware update bug is fixed there.

Yep, that helped, thanks!

However, the GLM software installation failed on Mac at a late phase, but that doesn´t seem to harm much.
