High End Gone
Hi,
I turned on my speakers this morning and the high end has gone from one of them. It was working perfectly yesterday and i don't play my music at a high volume. Its like there is a lowpass filter on one of them. I've tried switching speakers and cables but still a problem.
This is the second problem i've had in two months and I can't afford to have speaker issues again. Last time they where is repair for over a month.
What can I do? Please help

This is unacceptable. I've paid over £1000 for high end speakers I didn't expect to have problems with them after only a couple of years.
Now I'm going to have to pay a courier to drive them 163 miles away and have no speakers again until they are fixed.
This is the second problem within three months.
I really don't want to send my speakers off with a courier again but what choice have I got?
I'm absolutley livid, this shouldn't happen to high end speakers
I am at the end of my tether with Genelec.
I bought high end speakers, not only for a great sound, but so they would last me many years. (Genelec 8040)
First, both speakers totally stopped working, and after contacting Genelec, I get told to send them to a company in London (HBB) (163 miles away) to get them fixed (which cost me over £50 to send). The engineer tells me that it was an electrical fault which my warranty did not cover so I had to pay for them to be fixed, plus it took weeks to get them back from which I lost money through work ( I work in the music industry full time as a freelance mastering, mixing engineer as well as music production and composition).
A few months later the high end totally disappeared on one of the speakers. So I get told to send them to HBB again. Luckily the speaker started working over Christmas so I was able to finish music projects and keep my clients happy. The high end kept going, but if I turned it off and back on it would sometimes come back.
Later, the problem gets worse and the high end wouldn’t come back at all, so I decide to contact HBB again and get the speaker fixed once a for all. So I spend another £50 to send them to London.
3 WEEKS LATER and the engineer hasn't even looked at it yet. I’m losing money through work plus I am potentially losing clients. As many know the music business hard and if I keep putting off clients because of my speaker I could potentially lose their business.
I pay over £1400 for high end speakers and I feel like i’ve been mugged off. But what can I do? I’ve asked for replacement speakers but keep getting ignored.
Genelec are great speakers when they work but the customer service is absolutely disgusting. I've never been so disappointed with a product in my life. This is potentially ruining my career I have worked so hard for.
Please sort this out Genelec ASAP
