5" Small desktop subwoofer suggestion

Hi,

I am building a small nearfield desktop genelec setup for my studio but the Genelec available subwoofers are not very space friendly. Just thought i should send my feedback.

The smallest subwoofer available from Genelec is too large 6.5" is (H x W x D): 410 x 350 x 205 mm. which is too wide and too high for desktop use as it will cover LED screens if i put in in front of them. A small Sub 185mm height would fit perfectly under LED screens.   Would be a good idea if there would be a 5" Sub, with more friendly dimensions particularly the height. Other products have 5" Subwoofers at 185mm height which is perfect for desktop.

Sub enclosure design needs to change abit for desktop use in my opinion by changing dimensions by adding more depth and less height in order to meet basic 40-150Hz requirements.

Just a thought :)

Hi, because i want to make the sound coming from the same line of sight path so that the sound is not altered. Putting the sub under the desk will make the bass sound from under the desk. I kinda want the sound to come to my ears as one all together with nothing inbetween me and the entire 2.1 set of speakers. It will give me a more exact near field listening sound.

I use a Pure Audio Sub-1

Discontinued for some time, but as a small sub, I love them. Auto-on, RCS stereo inputs, but 6" total height. I have two! Difficult to find now, tho.

Probably too late now, as I was you posted  months ago!
