7040 Subwoofer for Surround

Hi all,

I would be happy for an advice.

Can I use a 7040A in a surround setup combined with five 8020's ? The 7050 is too large for my space. The 7040 only has two inputs. If I had my 8020's directly connect to a sound interface for mixing, how would i route the signal to the sub, as a sum? Do I need to run two channels into the sub, or can I use a mono signal with a spiltter cable ? This would be great to know before i purchase the subwoofer. Thank you !
