Can't control the volume of genelec 8040a

Dear all,

My system are setting up as : MAC -> DAC Ayre Qb 9 -> Genelec 8040. The problem is i can't turn the volume up or down because all the sound signal transfer direct to DAC Ayre without processing ( so it does match with the MAC volume ) my DAC Ayre doesn't have volume controler, only transfer the signal to genelec. The only way to turn the volume down is do the volume of playing music software to minimum, but it's still too loud.

So Please help me to find the way how to control volume of genelec 8040 like add pre / audio interface or what ever ( which one is the best way not processing the music signal, control the volume only ). I'm only listening to music, no need to use micro or music instrument.
Thank !

Hello,

you can add a passive Preamp with balanced Input/Output after the DAC.
